Rava Idly

Rava Idly




 Ingredients:


1. Rava  -  1 Cup
2. Buttermilk  - 1/2 Cup
3. Cashewnut  - 1 tsp
4. Urad Dal  -  1tsp
5. Chana Dal  - 1 tbsp (Soak in water for 5 min)
6. Mustard - 1tsp
7. Carrot -  1 (Grated)
8. Oil  - 1tbsp
9. Ghee - 1 tbsp
10. Eno Salt  - 1 tsp

Dry roast the rava. Pour oil in a pan and add mustard, ural dal and chana dal and saute well.
Add grated carrot and saute well. Add rava and ghee and mix well. When it cools, add the buttermilk, eno salt and little water and it should be in idly batter consistency.
Pour the batter in the idly mould and steam it for 10 minutes.
Serve it hot with onion chutney or sambar.








Pongal

Pongal - Pressure Cooker Version


 Ingredients:
1. Raw Rice                 -   1 Cup
2. Yellow Moong Dal   - 1/2  Cup
3. Pepper  - 1tsp
4. Jeera     - 1tsp
5. Turmeric Powder  - pinch
6. Salt & Oil
7. Water - 3.5 cups
Ghee - 1 tbsp

Pour oil in a pressure cooker, put jeera and when it splutters add pepper and add the rice and moong dal and saute it for a minute. Add turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Close the lid and switch off the stove after 6 whistles.

Once cooled down, add ghee and mix well.

Serve with Sambar & Chutney3
