Chocolate Glass Cake


CHOCOLATE GLASS CAKE

This is a very simple chocolate cake which is made in a glass. The whole cake will be finished in 8 minutes. If you are craving for sweets or if any guest have come you can surprise them by making this simple recipe. My daughter loved it and it became my routine job to make it once in a week. Its very simple as its done in microwave oven and it takes less time consumption


Ingredients:
1. Maida - 4 tbsps
2. Cocoa Powder - 3 tbsps
3. Sugar - 4 tbsps
5. Milk - 5 tbsps
6. Baking powder -1/2 tsp
7. Egg - 1
8. Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
9. Galaxy Chocolate - 1

How to Prepare:

In a bowl add maida, cocoa powder, sugar and egg and mix well. Then add milk and vanilla essence. Lastly add the galaxy chocolate pieces and mix well. Pour the mixture in a glass. Microwave it for 3-4 minutes.
Put the fork in the glass, if the fork comes out clean, then the cake is ready. Once it cools down its ready to munch :)

Pasta


PASTA

Ingredients:

1. Pasta - 2 cups
2. Zucchini - 2 chopped
3. Broccoli - 3 to 4 florets 
4. Spinach - 1 bunch
5. Marinara Sauce - 4 tbsp (For recipe - Refer to my previous post)
6. Olive oil - 1 tbsp
7. Parmesan Cheese (Grated) - few

How to Prepare:


Boil the pasta and drain the water.


 Heat olive oil in a kadai. Add the chopped zucchini and broccoli pieces and saute well.



Add the spinach and saute well


Add the cooked pasta 


Finally add the marinara sauce (Refer to my post here for the recipe) and saute well and cook for 5 minutes in a medium flame.


Garnish it with grated parmesan cheese. 


Marinara Sauce



MARINARA SAUCE



Ingredients:

1. Onion - 1
2. Garlic - 3 pcs
3. Tomato - 5 (Grind it to a smooth paste)
4. Crushed Chilly - 1tsp
5. Pepper - 1 tbsp
6. Italian Seasoning - 1 tbsp
7. Basil - 2 tbsp (I used dried)
8. Parsley - 2 tbsp ( I used dried)
9. Salt - Required quantity
10. Olive Oil - 1 tbsp
11. Sugar - 1 tbsp

 How to Prepare:

Heat olive oil in a kadai.  Add chopped onion and garlic and saute well


Add crushed chilly, pepper, salt and saute well


Add the grinded tomatoes, dried basil, parsely, sugar and italian seasoning


Cook it until the gravy thickens and the oil get separates on the sides


Marinara Sauce is ready. It can be used in pastas and pizzas

Vattayappam

Vattayappam is a famous snack in kerala and it is found in every christians's house during christmas.


VATTAYAPPAM


Ingredients:

1. Raw Rice - 1 cup 
2. Cooked rice - 3 tbsp
3. Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
4. Sugar - 4 tbsp 
5. Yeast - 1 tsp
6. Dry Grapes - 1 tsp

How to Prepare:

Soak the rice for 4 hrs. Grind it with cooked rice and coconut to a smooth paste. Add sugar and yeast and mix it well. The batter should be thick and not watery. Leave it overnight..
Pour the batter to a round deep plate and put some dry grapes on top of it. Boil water in a cooking vessel and place a box in the middle and keep the batter filled plate on top of the box.



Cover it with a lid and cook for 10 minutes.


Allow it to cool


Vattayappam is ready. It can be easily removed from the plate. Cut it to your desired shapes and serve.

Falafel

Falafel

Falafel is a famous snack in GCC countries. It is made as a sandwich with pita bread and salad vegetables. It is highly nutritious and simple to make.

FALAFEL


Ingredients:

1. Chick peas - 1 cup
2. Onion - 1
3. Garlic - 3 nos
4. Chilly Powder - 1 tsp
5. Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
6. Jeera Powder - 1 tsp
7. Parsely - 2 tbsp (I used dried)
8. Baking Powder - 1/2 tsp
9. Maida  - 1tbsp

How to Prepare:

Grind the chickpeas to a thick paste. Add all the ingredients from 2 to 9 and mix well.


Make it in round balls and slightly flatten it on the top and deep fry the falafel balls


Serve it with a salad and pita bread or make a bread sandwich.

Broccoli Soup

Broccoli Soup

BROCCOLI SOUP



Ingredients:

1. Broccoli - 1 cup
2. Carrot - 1
3. Potato - 2
4. Onion - 1
5. Jeera - 1 tsp
5. Black Pepper - 1tbsp
6. Butter - 1 tbsp
7. Cheddar Cheese - 1 tsp (Optional)

How to Prepare:


Take a broccoli florets in a bowl


Boil the broccoli in a cup of water


Chop onions, carrot & potatoes


Heat butter in a kadai


Add Jeera & Black pepper


Add the chopped onions, potato & carrot. Saute them well.


Once the vegetables are cooked, add it to the boiled broccoli pieces. Cook for 5 minutes and switch off the stove. Allow it to cool.


Once cooled down, grind it to a smooth paste and cook it for 5 more minutes.


You can add cheddar cheese if you want at this stage. Its optional. 


Yummy Broccoli soup is ready. Serve it hot :)
